in the beginning,
there was light, God created the light, and the light was good.

they say God created everything in her image —
light, Earth, mothers
and more. I can believe it because, everyday, in your visage
I see light, Earth, and God. You are love and it’s like no other.
You — all mothers — serve, love, protect, and encourage, you’re the bridge
between the divine and the mortal. God created mothers.
You are a mother, MY mother
for 30 years now — you’ve been through it all —
highs & lows, taken the blows, never letting the other fall.
To see you grow, thrive, rest, be — means the world to me — my MOTHER.
